Eco shop
Our story: The Eco shop started as a place to make the zero-waste journey that little bit easier. We sourced a range of tried and tested products like reusable cups, bags and worm farms, while offering education on the global issues of excess production and waste. Most of those items are now stocked in supermarkets and chain-stores, so we’ve been busy refining the zero-waste products on our shelves, while searching for new and exciting lines.
We want to spark conversations in our community, and offer education on the relationship between colonisation, consumerism and the climate crisis; so you'll find small books about big topics; resources to learn te reo maaori and Aotearoa histories; books for kids; poetry anthologies and reference books for the outdoors.
We prioritise NZ Made products, and hold long term relationships with local suppliers who want to test the market, or use our space to sell their products. Today, you’ll find a lot more artisan crafts and specialty foods like locally produced honey, chocolate, coffee and condiments.
The proceeds from the sale of products in our shop, go directly back into supporting environmental projects across the region, from our Bike Hub, predator free communities, food rescue and supporting healthy homes.
You'll find our Eco shop right in the heart of Frankton, an historic and quirky suburb which is also known for being the Op-shop capital of Kirikiriroa. It's open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and 9-12pm every Saturday.
